Green Bean Dessert Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup dried green beans
6 cups water
1/2 cup rock sugar (adjust to taste)
1 pandan leaf (optional, for added fragrance)
Instructions:
Rinse the dried green beans under cold water and soak them in water for at least 4 hours or overnight
Drain the soaked green beans and transfer them to a pot.
Add 6 cups of water to the pot and bring it to a boil over medium heat.
Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let the green beans simmer for about 1 to 1.5 hours, or until they are soft and tender.
Stir occasionally and skim off any foam that forms on the surface.
Once the green beans are cooked, add rock sugar to the pot and stir until it dissolves completely.
If using, tie the pandan leaf into a knot and add it to the pot for added fragrance. Let the soup simmer for another 10-15 minutes.
Remove the pandan leaf if used, then turn off the heat.
Serve the sweet green bean soup hot or chilled, depending on your preference.
