Raw Sugar and Steamed Pear Recipe
Ingredients:
1 ripe pear
1 tablespoon raw sugar
1 teaspoon honey (optional)
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
Water
Instructions:
Prepare the Pear:
Wash the pear thoroughly under running water.
Cut the pear in half vertically and remove the core with a spoon or knife, creating a hollow cavity in each half.
If desired, sprinkle the inside of each pear half with a pinch of ground cinnamon.
Steam the Pear:
Place the pear halves in a steamer basket or a heatproof dish.
Fill a pot with water, ensuring it's below the level of the steamer basket.
Cover the pot and bring the water to a boil over medium heat.
Steam the pear halves for about 10-15 minutes or until they are tender but still hold their shape.
Sweeten with Raw Sugar:
Remove the steamed pear halves from the steamer and place them on serving plates.
Sprinkle each pear half with raw sugar while they are still warm.
Optionally, drizzle each pear half with a teaspoon of honey for added sweetness and flavor.
Serve Warm:
Allow the steamed pears to cool slightly before serving.
