Black Sesame Red Date Lotus Seed Porridge: A Nutrient-Rich Delight Recipe
Ingredients:
1/4 cup black sesame seeds
6-8 red dates, pitted
1/4 cup lotus seeds
4 cups water
1/2 cup sticky rice (optional)
Honey or maple syrup, to taste (optional)
Instructions:
Rinse the black sesame seeds, red dates, and lotus seeds under cold water.
In a dry skillet, toast the black sesame seeds over medium heat until fragrant and slightly golden, about 3-4 minutes. Be careful not to burn them.
In a saucepan, combine the toasted black sesame seeds, red dates, lotus seeds, and water. If using sticky rice, add it to the saucepan as well.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30-40 minutes, or until the ingredients are softened and the porridge reaches your desired consistency. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
Once cooked, remove from heat and sweeten with honey or maple syrup, if desired.
